DOB: April 18,1949 URS: June 24,2026
Shakki was born on Long Island, NY. He left home when he was 16 years old, and lived on the streets for awhile.
In his early life he found Christianity. He spent some time as a side musician for some rock groups in the late 60s and early 70s.
He was a professional photographer for a time and a photographer for the US Post Office.
He was married for awhile, until he moved to Petaluma CA in the early 80s.
In California he began exploring the spiritual world.
At that time he became a Reiki master, was initiated into Sufi Ruhaniat International , devoted himself to the healing service of Hazrat Inayat Khan, and was initiated into the Dervish Healing Order.
He lived at the Mentor Garden and the Khankah in San Francisco.
In recent years he struggled with some physical conditions and ailments, and yet he didn’t let those deter him from participating in life.
He considered himself a Buddhist on the Sufi path.

He traveled the world, India, China, Thailand, among others, often traveling alone, and having wonderful adventures. His musical instrument was the electric bass, and besides being a highly proficient musician, he was also a connoisseur of hand-made instruments, as well as quality sound systems. He was generous with his time, wisdom, and worldly goods.
Blessings as you continue your travels free from the pain and suffering you were passing through. You have been a blessing to our Healing Circle for years and it was always a joy to discuss life circumstances with you. Joy was present always under the life circumstances bubbling to the surface and bringing it into the moment!
