Hilal was a kind, generous and unique person who offered her humble leadership within the Columbus OH Dances and Sufi communities for over 30 years. All who knew her appreciated her strong intellect, dry wit, depth of practice, and unswerving commitment to the Message of Love, Harmony and Beauty. So many paths trodden, so many obstacles in the path, so much organizing, so much study, so many events, potlucks, relationships, encounters. So much learning! Keep on teaching from wherever you are now flying!

I first met Hilal at a Sufi Dances for Universal Peace gathering years ago …her small stature, beautiful dress and pleasant smile was warm and welcoming to me, as a new attendee. I remember fondly, attending one of the sessions she had at her home, and in that early stage, was in awe of her knowledge and again, her welcoming grace! Deep peace to Hilal.
