  1. Hafiza
One of the beautiful songbirds in the original Sufi Choir.
A caring nurse. She made perfectly seasoned fried potatoes for Moineddin. The only time he could enjoy all the salt was during his home dialysis treatment.
A devoted mother to her children; she loved to talk about them.
She was so much more, a lover of this beautiful life, her beautiful soul shone forth in her generous, welcoming smile.
Hafiza sent a glorious Christmas card every year, I missed it when none arrived this past December.

Deep peace of the running wave to you
Deep peace of the flowing air to you
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you
Deep peace of the shining stars to you
Deep peace of the Spirit of Peace to you

Enfolding you in the arms of the Beloved,
    Mary Shaffea

  2. Way way back in the old Sufi Choir
days, Kay (the name I knew her by) had
    the most lovely voice.
Her smile lit up the back row.
    Her kindness and humility seemed
like a shadow. It was the sun peering
    behind the moon.
    RIP
