At five PM on Christmas day our beloved Asha Kent declined to breathe another breath.
Thus his heart stooped, and spirit departed to realms beyond care,
but also beyond our human touch.
He left behind what to some might seem a curious artifact of life, his body,
seemingly forgotten in his focus on departing,…..towards…
His beloved?
We who remain in this land of the ‘living’ are not given to know the whereabouts, nor the route to this promised wedding location or perhaps what is a realm beyond care.
I , for one, would hope that the route of his pilgrimage onward would be marked by subtle light
just as the sunrise, below, marked the waters
of our beloved Salish Sea.
I did not have the pleasure to meet Asha in person, but I did meet him through his wonderful commentaries online. He was lively in a discussion, and I loved his perspective. I never even saw a photo of him until I looked at the one Chitanya posted here (thank you Chitanya for the remembrance!). He looked just as I might have pictured him, with that beautiful white hair and wise twinkle in his eye.
If his name Asha is the Zoroastrian term for what is True, what is Right, how perfect! I found him to be just that.
